In response to numerous requests we are delighted to announce that you can now submit a Virtual Paper for this year’s ICDE World Conference on Online Learning. This new Virtual Paper option enables you to share your work with a wider international audience even though you are unable to attend the November conference in Dublin in person. The conference team has decided to incorporate a Virtual Paper option into the conference programme for the first time to be more inclusive, to help support people who do not have time and/or funding to travel to Dublin, and to truly “walk the talk” of online learning.

Virtual Papers will be included in the conference programme and formal proceedings with the same peer reviewed status and validity as other paper categories. Authors of Virtual Papers need to submit a short abstract (maximum 250 words) through the conference submission system by no later than Friday 23rd August. If the abstract is accepted, then you will be invited to upload a short slide deck (maximum of 15 slides) along with the option of a 5-minute video. Presentations will be made available to delegates via the conference app and optional videos through a link to our YouTube channel. There will also be an opportunity to interact asynchronously during the conference to discuss your paper and respond to questions from delegates via the app and related social media.

Authors of accepted Virtual Papers need to register and submit their PowerPoint presentation files (PPT or PPTX without audio or video) and optional 5-minute video by no later than Monday 30th September. More information about Virtual Paper submissions is available on the conference website: http://wcol2019.ie/call-for-papers/

If you have any questions about the Virtual Paper format, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
