The event is relevant to stakeholders from education and business who wish to better understand the potential of open approaches to support and inspire innovative practice. Attendees will have the chance to participate in moderated discussion, contribute to collective sensemaking, and feed into the activities of the ENCORE+ Network.
This ENCORE+ event will comprise of:
An update of the OER Innovation Survey that we are conducting; OER Innovation Framework; updates from conference activities and outreach; and the Innovation Briefings series
Guest speaker Prof. Martin Weller on the relation between metaphor and practice in open education
Roundtable discussion on emerging issues relating to OER, OEP and innovation

Speakers:
Dr. Rob Farrow. Research Fellow - Institute of Educational Technology at The Open University (OU)
Rob is a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Educational Technology at The Open University (UK). His research focuses on technology enhanced learning and the design, implementation and evaluation of socio-technical learning systems. Rob currently led the research outputs for the Global OER Graduate Network and the innovation strand for the European Network for Catalysing Open Resources in Education (ENCORE+). Read more here.
Prof. Martin Weller. Professor of Educational Technology - Institute of Educational Technology at The Open University (OU)
Martin is a Professor of Educational Technology and his interest has always been in the application of new technology to academic practice. He leads the OER Hub research team, running a portfolio of projects examining the impact of open educational practices. Read more here.
About the ENCORE+ project
ENCORE+ is the European Network for Catalysing Open Resources in Education, a new open network for OER. The network is open for all stakeholders engaging in OER, focused on quality, technology, innovation and policy. The events taking place this fall will be focused on these 4 themes, through engaging discussions, reflections and sharing of recent research. They aim to build a new alliance for Open Education in Europe, exchange knowledge and create collective intelligence on OER.
