Global partnership for ICT in education on its way

The report of the International Conference on ICT and Post-2015 Education: “Leveraging ICT to Achieve the Post-2015 Education Goal” is now available here.

The Qingdao Declaration was adopted the day after the adoption of the Incheon declaration, Education 2030, on the 25th of May 2015 in Qingdao, China. It furthered the commitments to leveraging ICT to: achieve equitable access and inclusion, quality learning, and lifelong learning for all; adopting Open Educational Resources, recognizing and scaling up online learning innovations as well as developing quality assurance and recognition of online learning.

UNESCO, in cooperation with the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Municipal Government of Qingdao, and the Wei Dong Group of China, is organizing the International Forum for Partnerships on the Qingdao Declaration from 20 to 21 December 2015 in Qingdao, China.

The Forum seeks to formalize the global partnership for the operationalization of the Qingdao Declaration, identify main lines of action, and set up the operational strategies for cooperation. The outputs of the Forum will include an agreement on the proposed Global Alliance for Qingdao Declaration and the action plan for following-up activities.

ICDE supports the initiative and will be represented by the ICDE Secretary General. He will give a key note and also chair the roundtable: Global partnership for leveraging ICT to achieve Education 2030.

The objectives of the Conference are as follows:
(1) map out the major programmes of key partners on leveraging ICT to achieve Education 2030 and find synergy for cooperation;
(2) discuss the working mechanism of a global alliance for Qingdao Declaration to guide international cooperation towards Education 2030;
(3) develop the mid-term action plan for the global alliance including main lines of action, funding sources, and implementation strategies.
