ICDE Prizes for Innovation and Best Practice 2015

At the closing ceremony of the 26th ICDE World Conference at Sun City in South Africa on 16 October, five papers were awarded the ICDE Prize for Innovation and Best Practice in Open, Distance, Flexible, Online Education and E-learning.

The five papers were selected by the Open Praxis Editorial Board, and they will be published in the next issue of Open Praxis.

The five awarded papers were:

Challenges to the Doctoral Journey: a Case of Female Doctoral Students from Ethiopia
Author: Asamenew Demessie Bireda

The Editorial Board highlighted the qualitative approach of this paper, which identifies students' concerns and provides insight for organizing student support services.

Growth and Development of Distance Education in India and China: A Study on Policy Perspectives

Authors: Ashok Gaba & Wei Li

The Editorial Board valued the comparative approach to the development of open and distance education in the two most populated countries, including mentions to recent trends in the field.
