Learning Analytics: Insight Papers Now Available
ICDE has published two insight papers written by esteemed scholars:
‘Higher Education and the Revolution of Learning Analytics’ by Anne Boyer and Geoffray Bonnin
‘How do we start? State and Directions of Learning Analytics Adoption’ by Dragan Gašević, Shane Dawson, Abelardo Pardo
The two insight papers respectively provide readers with an up-to-date overview of the current state of play in learning analytics. They will be useful on a number of levels as they are both instructive and provide details on trends around learning analytics, drawing upon movements in the USA, UK, Europe and Australia.
The two insight papers were presented as part of the session‘ Learning Analytics Marketplace’ at the 2016 ICDE Presidents’ Summit in Sydney, that was presided over by ICDE Executive Committee member, Belinda Tynan, RMIT University. The report authors, Dragan Gasevic, University of Edinburgh and Anne Boyer, Université de Lorraine used the session to showcase how ICDE members are using learning analytics to understand learner behaviours’ and taking actions to support and improve student learning outcomes and retention.
