29th ICDE World Conference 2023 presented at the II Ibero-American Convention of Rectors and Academic Leaders on Distance and Virtual Higher Education

 

The 29th ICDE World Conference, taking place in San José, Costa Rica on 6-10 November 2023, was presented at the II Ibero-American Convention of Rectors and Academic Leaders on Distance and Virtual Higher Education.

Representatives of the Costa Rican Distance State University (UNED Costa Rica), Vice President of Planning, Alvaro García Otárola, and Maynor Barrientos Amador, participated in the II Ibero-American Convention of Rectors and Academic Leaders on Distance and Virtual Higher Education, held from 5-7 September in the port city of Cartagena de Indias in Colombia. It was organised by the Colombian National University for Distance and Open Education (UNAD), together with the AIESAD, OEI, CALED among other important organisations from the region.

The Convention brought together more than 750 delegates from different countries and served as the scenario of AIESAD’s Biannual General Assembly. During the event, UNED’s representatives had the opportunity to announce the 29th ICDE World Conference 2023 to AIESAD’s members, and to all the sponsors and participants. The news was warmly welcomed by attendees, many of whom asserted their willingness to be part of the forthcoming ICDE World Conference in November 2023.

The II Ibero-American Convention of Rectors and Academic Leaders on Distance and Virtual Higher Education was also attended by ICDE’s active members from Latin America, including ICDE Board member, Dr. Carlos Alberto Pereira De Oliveira, who also referred to ICDE World Conference in Costa Rica during his keynote speech.
